Bare Bones, an acapella trio built around the core of Becky Kimmons as lead and Bill Kimmons as bass, has been entertaining audiences since 1981. In September 2021, Dock Cutlip joined them, singing harmony parts from tenor to baritone. They have taught and performed at the Augusta Heritage Workshops’ Vocal Week, and have been guest artists at the annual Getaway of the Folklore Society of Greater Washington (DC).  

In its various forms through the years, the trio has shared the stage with leading Irish performers Karan Casey and John Doyle, American artists Chris Smither, John Lilly, and the Carolina Chocolate Drops. They’ve toured Ireland twice, and have performed at many venues in West Virginia. North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and New York State. 

Their song list is varied, with nods to their roots in traditional music, branching into contemporary songs, always with the distinctive sound that comes from unaccompanied singing rooted in Appalachia.
